Dear Diary

So what's new in your life? Is a question probably none of you are asking, but I am going to answer it anyways!

Last weekend I found myself back in Appleton, Wi with Charlie for a doctors appointment, and it was a painful reminder of how tired I have grown of Madison. If any of you know me personally, you are all too aware of how much I am learning to hate this city. Graduation is in May for me, and I think that I will head North for awhile, to enjoy a city I feel safe in, and rent that won't put me in debt.
I have eight more months to go, and I still browse apartments frequently, because I just don't enjoy living in this one. There's something about it that just never feels clean. I know Charlie is not interested in moving to a new place simply because of the work, I can't stop my wandering housing eye...

Oh! I have dark brown hair now.

My previous, natural hair color was matching my glasses, and that might not be an issue for some, but it was really troubling to me. Also I have recently developed an interest in pink and salmon shades for clothing. And if I am completely and embarrassingly honest this new interest was inspired by my Mad Men addiction, with this particular character and dress.

On the way back to Madison last weekend we made a stop in Beaver Dam to check out their Goodwill store, and it did not disappoint. It had been my personal belief that smaller cities always have the best thrift finds. I found two great items.

A Jadite batter bowl, just like this one was on display, and in near perfect condition. It was so flawless that I was briefly concerned it was a reproduction, but an original FireKing stamp was on the bottom, and a store worker told me about how it came in with other old things that were filthy. I love seafoam greens, so Jadite was so appealing, and the idea of a batter bowl is to wonderful. Plus vintage kitchenware is a personal favorite of mine.

I also picked up a neat old camera.

It is an Agfa Memo, like this one, but with a slightly nicer condition on the body since it was protected by an original leather case.

I think that's probably enough enough babbling for me. I'll post something more worthwhile in days to come.

Lu
